Now it is time for a Wolf to be selected to be king of the Canines and a Wolf to be selected to be king of all of Ailamina. Two wolves have been selected. They are brothers.
Two wolves stand side by side, a tall buff black wolf with moonstone claws and a skinny white wolf with jasper claws.
The white wolf is called up first by the martin holding the scepter and crown of the Canines. The scepter has wolf head with teeth showing. The crown is made of jasper and red velvet.
"Duff, you and your bloodline have been called and chosen by the Creator to rule the Canines for as long as your bloodline continues. Do you promise to rule justly?" Asked the martin.
"Of course I will. At least I didn't steal the crown like my brother over here!" Duff smirks as he points in the black wolf's direction.
Silence sweeps over the crowd as Duff receives his crown and scepter. The black wolf is called up to the other side of Duff. The martin holds a moonstone crown with rubies and purple satin, and a scepter with a howling silver wolf.
"Bruce, you have been called and chosen by the Creator to rule over the next 100 years. Do you promise to prioritize the needs of then kingdom over outsiders?" The martin asks as he places the crown on Bruce's head. Bruce bows his head, "I do. Thank you my fellow creatures. It is with great humility and gratitude that I accept this crown. I am but a servant of the kingdom, entrusted with the responsibility to protect and guide our land".
Duff jumps up and yells. " You don't deserve that crown, it's your fault father is dead!"
Bruce responds calmly, "Duff I understand your frustrations, but it is the Creator that chose our positions in the kingdom. I did not seek the crown, but to live peacefully with my wife Fenella. It was the Creator's will that brought me here. I bear the weight of this responsibility with deep respect for our family and our legacy." Bruce smiles to a beautiful red fox in the front of the crowd.
"You may have the crown, but I will always be the real ruler around here!" Duff responds
Bruce is gentle. "Duff, you already have the crown and power over the canines. Let's not forget what went down with Nadia. She got too greedy for power, and got swallowed up by the wandering forest. Let's focus on what is best for Ailamina instead of our own differences"
The tension eases as the feast starts.
Duff starts secretly finding ways to target Bruce's wife instead of the crown.
See, Bruce decided to marry a Fox. The Foxes and wolves hated each other. It was forbidden for the two to ever have any relationship, much less marry.
Duff heard rumors that Fenella was pregnant with 6 pups. A mane wolf who talks to the Creator was told about a special hybrid pup that will bring about a huge change and power. The Creator said her name will be Asselia.
Duff starts communicating with Nadia through a mirror. They start planning on how to kidnap Asselia and her siblings.
